Elections

The SCASL Elections Committee needs the help of the SCASL membership!

Suggestions for nominees are needed for the offices of president-elect and secretary. The slate of nominees will be published in Media Center Messenger prior to conference. Elections will be held during the March 2008 SCASL business meeting at the conference in Columbia.  Nominees must reside and/or work in South Carolina and be active members of SCASL.

President Elect:: The president-elect’s commitment is for three years. This position requires previous Executive Board service and personal membership in ALA and AASL.

Year One duties 2009-2010:

1. Serves as president-elect of SCASL
2. Plans the SCASL 2010 annual conference
3. Attends ALA 2009 Annual Conference to observe AASL Affiliate Assembly meetings
4. Attends ALA 2010 MidWinter Conference as an SCASL delegate to AASL Affiliate Assembly

Year Two duties 2010-2011:

1. Serves as SCASL president
2. Attends ALA 2010 Annual Conference to represent SCASL at AASL Affiliate Assembly
3. Attends ALA 2011 MidWinter Conference as an SCASL delegate to AASL Affiliate Assembly

Year Three duties 2011-2012:

1. Serves as SCASL immediate past president
2. Chairs Elections Committee
3. Chairs SCASL 2013 Annual Conference site selection task force
4. Attends ALA 2011 Annual Conference as an SCASL delegate to AASL Affiliate Assembly

Secretary: The secretary serves a one-year term from July 1 - June 30. He/she is responsible for recording and distributing minutes of Executive Board, Executive Committee, and SCASL Business meetings. No prior Executive Board experience is necessary.
