Dear <Supervisor’s name>,

This year the South Carolina Association of School Librarians’ (SCASL) Conference will be held on March 9-11, 2022 at the DoubleTree Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The South Carolina Association of School Librarians (SCASL) is the only state organization advocating for the needs of school librarians and this conference is the only one in our state with professional development created primarily for school librarians.

The conference is designed to give attendees a better understanding of how the school library program and the school librarian impact student learning and how to document that impact. The conference offers affordable professional development for school librarians across our state and attending will also allow me to network with a variety of school librarians, administrators, educators, and authors. A detailed cost breakdown is included below.

Registration Fee*                                       _________

Total:                                                          _________

Registration includes:

  • Keynote speaker: K.C. Boyd, school library activist and library media specialist for the Washington, DC Public School System.

  • Featured speakers and author panels.

  • Concurrent sessions on a variety of topics presented by SC school librarians, authors, and national education experts

  • Access to select recordings after the conference for continued professional development

The opportunity for me to grow professionally, develop better contacts and gain knowledge makes my attendance at the SCASL Conference essential to my position. Thank you for considering this wonderful opportunity to support my professional growth and allowing me to better serve our <school, school district, university, etc.>!
